Little Fish - Big Pond

We've had lots of firsts to celebrate over these past 11 months and this weekend has been no exception. Little Miss got her first opportunity to be a little fish in a big pond. My brother and his wife have a great camp site (with all the comforts of home) up north on Smith Pond. It was the perfect day for relaxing, catching some sun, having a couple cocktails and of course spending time with family which we don't do enough of.

Smith pond was far warmer than Niskayuna High School pool so little Miss got to enjoy the water, the mud and lily pads without the blue lips that generally accompany swimming class. It was the perfect start to the holiday weekend and although little Miss had what I refer to as the "sun scowl"  she actually enjoyed herself...next time Mommy needs to remember her sun glasses.

As we stood starring out over the water...
what it must be to see this for the first time.

Completely mesmerized by the sun coming off the water...
after a few cocktails the same thing still happens to me kid.
 The water doesn't bite kiddo...
Really, you can sit.
Is this what I'm supposed to be doing?
This is nice...this works for me.
I didn't know that water outside the bathtub could be warm.
Sure, you can put a slimy lily pad on my head,
as long as I can pee in the water...
Mom, what's this stuff on my hands?
 Can I eat it? Noooooooooo!!!
Well what fun is that? They put this stuff here...
I should be able to eat it.
That's okay...I'll just sit here and stair at the sun on the water.
All in all, this is good stuff.
