I know most people prefer bright sunshiny days on the weekend but every now and again it's nice to wake up to a gray day and the sound of rain pouring down. If nothing else it forces you to relax. Most weekends are filled with the hustle and bustle of life, attending parties, visiting friends & family, running errands, going, going, going. A rainy day cancels most plans (at least for me), no running errands in the pouring rain, no yard work for the hubs, no parties or outdoor activities to attend, just a lazy day, catching up on the art of spending time.
The spaghetti dinner was little Miss's first and something she enjoyed immensely...
Saturday morning we started the day off with a candlelight breakfast of omelets, home-fries and toast. Little Miss was fast to drift off to dreamland with a full belly to the lullaby of showers outside her window. Snuggling on the couch, reading books, some piano playing, an afternoon nap (for everyone), spaghetti dinner and a movie made up the rest of our rainy day activities.
Sunday was a little less rainy but was spent relaxing none the less. We were visited by Gammy & Papa who started our day off with our favorite apple cinnamon buns...which are now little Miss's new favorite. We spent the rest of Sunday reading books, playing with our iPad and rocking out to the latest AC/DC concert which has convinced us that little Miss is destined to be a rocker girl...they'll be no classical piano recitals in this house!
Since the next few weekends will have us all on the go this was a much needed "pause" - I could honestly spend every weekend like this.
