Back in the Blogging Business...

Hello Again, it's been a few weeks since my last post as we've been experiencing some technical difficulties. Hopefully this new and improved, easier to use blog will mean that I can write a little more frequently. Although I will reiterate my original promise to make these posts about more than just sleeping habits and poop.

So it's already December, so let's get caught up shall we?

Our first official family Thanksgiving was spent with the Vincent family at Twilight Terrace. Little Miss sat at the dinning room table with the rest of the family looking very ready to taste all the good smelling food that was in front of her - unfortunately taste testing will have to wait until next Thanksgiving we're still just a little too young for Papa's garbage salad. Actually, I'm not sure anyone is ever really qualified to eat that but at least next year you can have the mashed potatoes, turkey and fixin's. We reminisced about the fact that last year on Thanksgiving day our "little turkey" was just put into Mommy's oven to bake for nine months. More importantly we prayed for our little turkey to grow and this year, there you sat, in your high chair at the end of the table. We have so much to give thanks for.

Thanksgiving weekend quickly gave way to December and with the first weekend came the night when we would normally have attended Dancing in the Woods, our annual Albany Med Children's fund raising event that has become a tradition for us and our friends. This year however we were left with no friends able to attend so, much to our unhappiness, we sat it out this year.  Everyone has been busy making babies and it seems that not everyone is ready to get back into the swing of life like Daddy and I. Next year we'll be attending regardless, if old friends can't make it then we'll have to make new ones!

Even though we didn't make it out to the galla, this first weekend in December was action packed. On Friday night we had dinner at the Lifford's and got to spend some time with their newest family member Bailey (a name that later in life you are sure to recognize as you'll be spending plenty of time together in the coming years).

Saturday we ventured out in the cold with the Poisson's to cut down our first Christmas tree. In past years we have always gone to "Bob's Trees" in Gallway but with the scarce inventory we saw there last year we opted for a new location this year and went to Ellm's Trees in Balston Spa instead. We were not disappointed. Greeted by Santa, we took a trolley ride out to the fields of trees where Dad and Uncle Bob were left to play Paul Bunyan while us girls (and Thomas) found shelter in a warming hut.  We got to see a couple of Santa's reindeer and have hot chocolate and cider doughnuts, that is, everyone other than little Miss, who was too busy sleeping.

And Last but certainly not least, on December 6th we celebrated Bon Bon's 4th birthday.  She got several presents including an obnoxiously loud squeaking Gorilla that she absolutely loves!  Happy Birthday my "first born."
